Biography

Denis Matenda was born in Sweden by Croatian parents. Already at school, he started to fiddle around with keyboards and played in a band.

Once finishing his military service, he took a long break from music and went travelling around the world, worked as a diving instructor and opened up a kickboxing club. Later on he decided to pick up music production again and give it a proper go. After borrowing other artists studios for a while, he decided to invest in his own equipment.

Releases on Spirit Zone and Transient soon followed. His musical background and influences can be described as, a bit of funk, a bit of rock and a huge devotion to early electronic music. The labels he has released on so far is; Spirit Zone, Medium, Spiral Trax, Transient, Flow, Nova tekk, Krembo, Compact, Phonokol, Y.S.E, Shellsplinta, Natraj temple, Global trance network, Dance `n`dust and Happy people music records.

He has just finnished studying at the University, and has recieved a Master degree in economics. He is also responsible for Club Expander and Club Progressive, two monthly trance/progressive clubs in Gothenburg,Sweden, where he also plays as a resident DJ.

A chill-album by Matenda  is to be released soon on Chill-Code records, a new german
label. Currently he is busy putting the finishing touches to the follow-up of his debut trance-album, which is to be released on Flow records before this summer.

The sound of Matenda can easiest be described with some few keywords; progressive, morning, atmosphere, groovy and hypnotic.
